CHIMNEY CAPS

MCP carries a very large selection of styles and sizes of protective chimney covers also referred to as rain caps. Chimney covers prevent entry of water, leaves, animals, birds and other debris into your fireplace or furnace chimney. Copper, stainless steel, galvanized steel, round, square, and rectangle are a few of the choices available.

DAMPERS

A  damper is the metal plate, which you open when using the fireplace and close when the fireplace is not in use. Top closing dampers are excellent for situations where the existing fireplace damper is absent, broken or when heat .  Dampers seal fireplace flue to reduce heat loss up the chimney.  Dampers may provide $100 or more in fuel savings per year. Keeps out snow, rain, animals and debris.  The lid is spring-loaded and defaults to open position. Operated by a stainless steel cable which extends down the inside of the chimney flue and is attached to a hook mounted in the front of the fireplace.
